We are well in to 2009. It’s high time we had another great evening for all our fans to enjoy the gift from the angels – Montes.
On the evening of Tuesday, 31st March 2009, over 100 guests gathered at Edmond’s Gallery Fine Wine and Cigar Club, Nanshan, Shenzhen for another Montes Wine Tasting Party. Alan Chung has just been blessed with a new-born baby - a boy, again, his number 3! He has, meanwhile, proudly announced efforts are continuing on his part and that of his dear wife, our lovely Carmen, to seek their first girl. Hats off to our proud parents and respects for our fairer sex!
On Alan’s special order, a whole piglet had been ordered from Weizhou to be delivered to the venue for roasting in a specially prepared oven – outside in the open. Tremendous efforts went into feeding the fire and whatnot. At the end, the originally generous serving became preciously little with the somewhat ‘over-subscribed’ attendance. Well, one shouldn’t really complain about an excellent turnout, should one?
The lovely Montes range of great wines flowed freely – to everyone’s delight. Edmond Wong even opened some 1.5 liter and 3 liter Alpha Cabinet Sauvignon for the guests. That went very well indeed with the greatly appreciated cigars from Cuba. Edmond Wong showed the video on his visit to Vina Montes, Alpalta during his recent trip to Chile.
The highlight of the evening was the appearance of the Montes Angel – actually our lovely Julia in a specially prepared costume, complete with wings. Guests took turns for a photo session.
Edmond would not let the evening go by without one last surprise for our guests. He served up the iconic Purple Angel. To accompany this little beauty, Edmond surrendered his last reserve of the incomparable Iberico ham from Spain – best in the world. Edmond, a truly generous host!
