First, let me welcome you to Edmond’s Gallery. It is not a gallery of paintings or other works of art but indeed one that showcases great wines that I have specially selected for you, and also venues where you will find these wines - and above all, a preferred life-style: a quality life style that is based on refined wine enjoyment and all the wonderful things that come along with it - be it food, friendship, travel, romance or even philosophy.

I have traveled the world and done many different things in life. However, what I enjoy most of all is to introduce the wine culture to my fellow countrymen. Through this unique retail concept that is ‘Edmond’s Gallery’ or simply ‘EG’, I aim to showcase a special collection of wines for your enjoyment. Wines don’t have to be expensive to be great; you just need to know enough to be able to choose well. In my EG Selection, you will find great value at every particular price point. There are wines from all the major wine-producing regions and so you get to taste them all. French wines are great but we must never forget our value-equation. I can easily suggest some wines from the new world that are inexpensive yet truly wonderful. Montes from Chile, for one, will be difficult to beat!

Besides the EG Selection of wines, Edmond’s Gallery also showcases wine-related products, such as glasses and decanters. EG also puts on parade various retail outlets where these excellent products may be found. These venues could be a fine wine and cigar club, a fine-dining restaurant, or a wine cellar. Some of them may not be operated by us but by alliance partners, but wherever you see the EG logo, let me assure you that you will be getting products and services of quality and style.

Like a personal crusade, my role in this EG phenomenon is to generate a huge wave that will eventually swarm the entire country with the wine culture that we are preaching. At every opportunity, I would like to tell my audience how to appreciate and enjoy wine, how good wine is to health, what to look for as a consumer, etc. As our EG network grows over time, more member outlets will be joining the Gallery – and so an ever increasing momentum keeps on being built up. It is our aim that before long the average Chinese citizen will be enjoying wine regularly along with a better life-style.

At this particular time it is important that we share our knowledge and experience about wine with as many people as we possibly can. That’s why I am writing columns, appearing on radio and TV shows, and giving speaking engagements in various other public forums. However, for the time being, our flagship wine culture club in Nan Shan, Shenzhen, remains our most powerful asset in engendering this new wine culture wave. Most evenings you would find me there talking to fellow wine-lovers about wine, food pairing, how to choose, etc. On these same premises, we also regularly conduct wine tasting sessions. So, please come visit us soon and share with us the many stories about wine and indeed life itself!
